Description Chris 2012-07-09 18:04:21 CDT
On version 1.7, make fails to compile two files that use SSL_get_current_cipher:

$ grep  -I -R SSL_get_current_cipher *
resip/stack/ssl/TlsConnection.cxx:   ciph=SSL_get_current_cipher(mSsl);
reTurn/client/TurnTlsSocket.cxx:   ciph=SSL_get_current_cipher(mSocket.impl()->ssl);
reTurn/AsyncTlsSocketBase.cxx:   ciph=SSL_get_current_cipher(mSocket.impl()->ssl);

The two files in reTurn declare `ciph` as non-const, but in the version of openssl on my machine, SSL_get_current_cipher returns a const ptr. In both cases, changing `ciph` to a const ptr has no side effects, since `ciph` is only read from anyway.

After making those changes, the build succeeded.

$ openssl version
OpenSSL 1.0.0-fips 29 Mar 2010
$ cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.32-131.17.1.el6.i686 (mockbuild@x86-004.build.bos.redhat.com) (gcc version 4.4.5 20110214 (Red Hat 4.4.5-6) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Thu Sep 29 10:23:40 EDT 2011

It looks like this has been fixed in version 1.8.4.
